Paleoanthropological laboratory

• paleoanthropological reconstruction of past populations
  in the Carpathian basin
• comparative studies of past populations by osteological
  features
• palopathological studies (prevalence of pathological
  abnormalities by comparing different geographical and
  chronological populations in the Carpathian basin)
• population historical reconstruction (paleo-ecological,   paleopathological and molecular archeogenetical methods)




Anthropological researches of living people

Somatometric and ergonometric laboratory

 • body build analysis (body build typing, analysis of body
  proportions, developing a new method for body build
  assessment)
• body composition analysis (anthropometric and modern
  techniques, developing a new anthropometric method for
  body composition analysis )
Auxological laboratory

 • studies of the relationships among nutritional habits,
  energy and nutrients intake and body development
• studies of the relationship between the environmental
  factors (life style: habitual physical activity) and body
  development
• studies of somatic development of children and youth
  by using biological age assessment techniques (bone
  age, dental age, morphological age, physiological age)

Epidemiological laboratory

• undernutrition, overweight and obesity research (the
  prevalence of underweight, overweight and obesity in
  children, young adults and elderly people)
• research of osteoporosis in young adults and elderly
  people (assessment of the prevalence of osteoporosis
  in young adults and elderly people; developing new
  methods for the assessment of the risk factors of   osteoporosis by analysing nutritional, life style, age, bone   mass and density features)
• studies of physiological capacity of children and young
  adults (studies of the relationship between cardio-
  respirator features, body composition and habitual
  physical activity)
• developing growth references for screening biological
  status of children
• studies in "epidemiological auxology" – growth as an
  indicator of the socio-economic status of the society
  (regional and secular trend studies of children's
  developmental status: 2nd Hungarian National
  Representative Growth Survey of children aged 3-18
  years – by comparing the body development of children
  from different socio-economical backgrounds)
